Actor | Singer | Producer
I have been acting and singing since I was a tiny tot making up elaborate stories to enact on the playground with my friends. In college I fell in love with the collaborative process of theatre and film which is why I value preparation, openness, and honesty as a team member and playmate. Ultimately, I love the compassion and empathy stories teach us.
Some of my favorite credits include Shelby in Steel Magnolias, Rose in The Secret Garden, and Princess Elizabeth in Richard III.
Writing is an integral part of my creative life, both as a way for me to process the mess of human nature and a way to connect deeper with people around me. In songwriting, I am inspired mostly by folk, bluegrass, jazz, 70's pop, and Sara Bareilles (I love her so much she gets her own category). I write for both myself and professional singers looking for original songs to record.
You can also find some of my articles published on Radiant NYC's website.
In 2019, Leah Beth Etheredge, Carly Speno and I formed Seeded Productions.
Seeded Productions exists to aid and produce innovative works in the performing arts that challenge audiences to connect to stories and inspire artists to tell them.
We are passionate about cultivating intentional space for the developmental process of new and reimagined works. We want to see excellent work birthed from a devotion to the craft.
Seeded is FOR THE MAKERS.
"No artist is ever pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer divine dissatisfaction; a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive than the others."
- Martha Graham to Agnes De Mille
The "For the Makers" Podcast
Seeded Productions has launched a podcast! I am loving getting to co-host and chat with amazing artists. You can find us on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. And if you like what you hear, consider supporting us by making a tax deductible donation!
I like to wear lots of hats - including actor, singer, writer, and producer. When I'm not in one of these roles, you can find me having deep conversations in a coffee shop, strolling or running through every park in NYC, trying new foods, or turning all of my friends into fans of Sara Bareilles and Tom Cruise.
I love meeting artists and future collaborators. Please feel free to reach out by using the form to your right, or you can email me directly at Rachel.firstname.lastname@example.org
I look forward to talking with you!
